To Touch Your Shore

To Touch Your Shore, Pastel
To Touch Your Shore
Pastel, I have long been fascinated with the sea having grown up here in Eastern Mass, with family from Gloucester, though this piece is of Maine. it is the character of sea and risk that is magical to me. I wrote the following in relation to this this piece: To touch your shore, your heart, your soul. Reaching like an outstretched hand, foam lapping between its fingers, playing with strands of seaweed like strokes through a lover’s hair.

The sea and shore engage in some grand game of tag, rushing in, you’re it, turns to go, only to rush back with thunderous passions, that spill upon the earth, leaving its reflection behind in every puddle. A not too long-ago kiss from moistened lips still glitters in sun and sheen of barnacle stubble. Resistance turns to surrender and in moments fleeting you are one.
