'Take Me to Church' is a bold and textural piece that I began as a non-objective work. My focus was on texture, the shapes, and their relationships, and how they 'settle' together on the canvas. When it felt finished it conjured up to me a sense of community. When I noticed the suggestion of a church in the background i had it's name!
